An inspired performing artist, D'ariel Barnard has been sharing truths with audiences for decades. But she's regaled roommates, next-door neighbors and siblings with tuneful melodies around the house for even longer!

Hometown: A graduate of the Sarasota Visual and Performing Arts Musical Theatre Program and Florida's public honors college, New College of FL, she has performed at many venues in Sarasota, FL including the Sarasota Van Wezel, Sarasota Players Theatre, Venice Theatre, Sarasota Robart's Arena, and Soundstage One. Regional credits include "Candide" (Cunégonde) at Sarasota Players Theatre and the premiere of "Gettysburg: Living and Dead" with New Music New College. Barnard was a 2006 recipient of the Sarasota Fine Arts Society Scholarship Award for Vocal Performance and the Florida Theatrical Association Certificate of Excellence in Theatre Award. She received grants from both the NCF Council of Academic Affairs and the NCF Student Travel and Research Program for continuing her vocal education. She is eternally grateful to her beloved voice teachers: Joleen Wilkinson for giving her the confidence to create her own unique sound and Carlo Thomas for giving her voice flight. "Yep, I'm a flyer!"

NYC: A summer introduction to opera boot camp with the Tampa Opera's VOICExperience program inspired her to make the move to the big city. The 2011-2012 season landed her with a young artist residency with OperaOggiNY and as a featured singer in Morningside Opera's Weimar version of a Mozart masterpiece, A Weimar Flute. She has also performed with One World Symphony, Opera NY, and Utopia Opera. On her days off from practicing she likes to take in the sights and sounds from shows around the city. I love being inspired by fellow artists and singers!
